Cyst Operations
As a result of untreated, long-term infections in the teeth, structures appear around the roots that show as dark colors on the jaw x-rays and in some cases, manifest as swelling in the mouth and the teeth. If these structures have certain characteristics, they are called cysts. Jaw cysts can occur not only around the infective tooth root, but also around the crowns of teeth that have not yet erupted into the mouth. Cysts are classified in various ways based on their formation and structure. Some of these structures do not require treatment, while others need to be removed. These cysts are removed surgically. This procedure is called cyst operation.
